The Designer
Laura Montano
"Beautiful things take time."
From Bogotá, With Love
I grew up watching my grandmother sew. In her small apartment in Bogotá, Colombia, surrounded by bolts of fabric and boxes of buttons, she created magic with nothing but needle, thread, and infinite patience.
I was seven when she first put a needle in my hand. "Slowly," she would say. "Good things are never rushed."
Those words stayed with me through design school, through my years working for larger fashion houses, through every moment I felt pressure to produce faster, cheaper, more.
The Montano Philosophy
Montano is not a business plan. It's a belief system. I believe that the most intimate garments a woman wears should be made with the same care and intention as the finest couture.
Every piece I create is made entirely by hand, from the first cut to the final stitch. I source my silks from heritage mills that have been weaving for generations. My laces come from French artisans who still use techniques passed down through centuries.
When you wear Montano, you're not just wearing lingerie. You're wearing hours of my time, years of my learning, and a lifetime of love for this craft.
