The Noir Corset Dress is the piece Laura kept making for herself. A sweetheart bodice, fully boned and shaped panel by panel, sits above a softly draped silk skirt that skims rather than clings. Nothing here is decorative. The seams are the design — each one placed to hold the waist and release the hip. It is a dress that does the work for you, then gets out of the way.
Handmade in small batches — designed & sewn by Laura
Cut and assembled by hand in Laura's New York atelier. The bodice is built from shaped panels rather than darts, each boning channel stitched and set individually so the structure follows the body instead of fighting it. The skirt is draped on the stand, not flat-patterned, which is why it falls the way it does. Interior seams are bound and finished by hand.
Silk charmeuse shell with a structured, fully boned bodice. Silk lining throughout. Sweetheart neckline. Concealed centre-back zip.
- Dry clean recommended to preserve the bodice structure
- If hand washing, use cool water and a pH-neutral silk detergent
- Never wring or twist — press water out gently and lay flat to dry
- Steam from a distance to release creases; never iron the silk directly
- Store hanging, away from direct sunlight
